Braver Angels: Navigating the partisan divide with civility
September 18 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Fed up with today’s politics? There is a better way. Braver Angels, a nonprofit dedicated to more civil conversations, will hold a workshop at the Grace Parish Hall designed to teach skills for having political conversations across the divide. Jodi Fisler, an Ambassador and Co-chair of the Central/Eastern Virginia Alliance of Braver Angels, will lead this workshop. In today’s polarized environment, political conversations often turn angry and counterproductive. Braver Angels skills help people listen and understand without arguing to build trust, clarify disagreements, and find common ground based on common values and humanity.
Braver Angels is leading the nation’s largest cross-partisan, volunteer-led movement to bridge the partisan divide for the good of our democratic republic. As we head into the election, we’re bringing together “We the People” to find a hopeful alternative to toxic politics. The American Hope campaign is equipping Americans across the political spectrum to work together and demand the same of politicians from both parties.
