This ministry provides an occasional meal to parishioners who are going through a medical emergency or in support of their family. If you enjoy cooking and would like to help in this way, please contact Caroline Griffith at firstname.lastname@example.org. You always have the option to decline if it is not a manageable time for you.
Made by our “Grace-ful knitters,” Grace blesses and distributes prayer shawls to those who might need a tangible sign of comfort and God’s love during hard times. The shawls are blessed during church services. Clergy, the Pastoral Care Team, and all members of Grace Church are welcome to give a prayer shawl to whoever may need it. Prayer shawls from Grace can be found all over the world – a sign of both the wideness of God’s mercy and of Grace’s commitment to those who suffer. Contact the church office (757-898-3261) if you would like to join this group.
Led by members of Grace’s Daughters of the King, Grace – in non-pandemic times – provides funeral receptions in the Parish Hall for church members. If you would like to help, 90-minute slots are available to set tables, serve at the reception or clean up. You may also prepare food for the reception. Contact the church office (757-898-3261) to put your name on the helpers list.
Pastoral Care Team
The clergy and other leaders meet each Monday morning to assess needs of parishioners for visits, meals, phone calls, transportation, Communion or clergy visits. This team coordinates support from parishioners able to help ensure all who are in need get attention from Grace.
