Sunday Services

Sunday Worship
Grace currently holds two services each Sunday, an in-person Rite I spoken Eucharist worship service at 8 a.m. in the Historic Church and a 10 a.m. live-streamed worship service from either the Parish Hall or the Historic Church. During the pandemic, a time when regathering is not yet permitted, we “meet” online.

Due to the pandemic, registration is required for in-person services and space is limited. Registration for the upcoming Sunday opens at noon Monday and closes at 3 p.m. Thursday or when all spots are filled, whichever comes sooner. Click here for registration or call the office, (757) 898-3261.

Healing Service
An in-person Rite II healing Eucharist worship service is held at noon Wednesdays in the HIstoric Church.

Evening Prayer
An in-person outdoor worship in the Grace churchyard, is offered during warm weather months at 5 p.m. Sundays, weather permitting. This service has been paused for the time being. When it occurs, this casual gathering lasts about 30-45 minutes. You must answer a series of health questions before entering the churchyard, bring your own chair, wear a mask and practice social distancing guidelines. The churchyard is marked to help with social distancing and ushers are on hand to assist. For more information about our regathering protocols, please watch this brief video. In the event of uncooperative weather, please see our website or Facebook page for notification of cancellation.

Private Prayer in the Historic Church

During the pandemic many at Grace were looking for ways to stay connected, be able to pray in the church and abide by all public health guidelines. A group found that way and gained approval from our bishop to offer 15-minute blocks of private prayer time in the church.

Signup is required for these slots, offered between 10 a.m. and noon Wednesdays. Click here to sign up. Upon arrival for your reserved time a volunteer will ask you a series of COVID-19-related health questions and for your commitment to wear a mask while inside the church. The volunteer will then guide you to your seat.

Subscribe to the FridayGram and Words of Grace

We like to keep in touch and produce a weekly newsletter (the FridayGram) and a bimonthly publication (Words of Grace) to make sure our people are connected. The FridayGram is a breezy take on what’s important in the coming week or so; Words of Grace tends to feature longer articles about the parish’s groups, activities and outreach. Click here to sign up for one or both of these communiques.

Day School

Grace’s Day School has been giving children their first look at school since 1955, so it’s fair to say we know a thing or two about educating young ones. We have a history of providing preschool classes for children ages two through kindergarten. As a ministry of Grace Church, we provide a Christian-based, religiously exempt weekday education program in a wholesome, stable atmosphere conducive to learning.

Using loving care and guidance, we strive to enrich each child’s life through age-appropriate activities that enhance their spiritual, emotional, mental and physical development. We are committed to making our students’ preschool years positive learning experiences that prepare them for elementary education. Currently we have five classrooms with a total capacity of 60 students. All staff members are required to complete yearly health screenings, background checks, and comprehensive mandatory training for the protection of children and youth. In addition, the facility carries public liability insurance.
