About the Day School

Since 1955 Grace Episcopal Day School has operated as a ministry of our historic church in Yorktown, Virginia. This Christian-based, religiously exempt weekday education program, which includes a private half-day Kindergarten, provides a wholesome and stable atmosphere conducive to learning.

Using loving care and guidance, we strive to enrich each child’s life through age-appropriate activities that enhance their spiritual, emotional, mental and physical development. We are committed to making our students’ preschool years positive learning experiences that prepare them for elementary education.

Currently we have five classrooms with a total capacity of 60 students. We are in the process of replacing our playground, which is adjacent to our classrooms, but have enjoyed exploring the quaint Yorktown village and its public spaces on our outdoor adventures.

All staff members are required to complete annual health screenings, background checks and a comprehensive mandatory training program for the protection of children and youth. In addition, our school facility carries public liability insurance.
