Learn how to talk about gun safety at a special presentation in the Parish Hall. This is an important and, unfortunately, timely topic for us to discuss and learn more about. According to the Centers for Disease Control, firearms are now the leading cause of death for children aged 1-19, surpassing car wrecks and cancer. Grace’s Beloved Community Committee will welcome Ruth Winters and Marilyn Adams from Peninsula Area Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America to share the “Be SMART” program. Be SMART is a framework designed to help parents and adults normalize conversations about gun safety and take responsible actions that can prevent child gun deaths and injuries. Join us as we learn how to keep children safe from gun violence and about safe gun storage. This program is geared toward adults, but appropriate for teens who care for younger kids.
